Welcome to WEEK 5!
We are now half way through the quilt along! You should be going into week 5 with half of your blocks done. If you aren't, don't worry. Next week is a scheduled catch up week!
I finally feel like I am getting the hang of this QAL hosting. I hope I am doing an okay job! haha. Last week I was behind on posting on Monday and this week, I am back on time. I can't believe I only have 4 more blocks to make and then I have to decide my cornerstones and sew the top together.
WEEK FIVE
- Make 4 more blocks. At the end of this week you should have 12 blocks.
- Post your progress on Instagram. Make sure to post your newest blocks or a full shot of your 12 blocks by Sunday on the #siennaburstqal hashtag to be entered into this weeks giveaway.
MY PROGRESS
Fabrics I am using:
Background Fabric : Kona White
FQ Fabric: Blueberry Park 3 by Karen Lewis Textiles (ships to stores in May) Bright/Neutral
I technically made 8 blocks this week. The four I finished for this past week and the 4 I finished Saturday to get ahead on this week. I really am loving seeing all the fabrics play together. I have no idea if I want to do just 1 fabric for all the cornerstones or do a mixture. Have you guys thought that far ahead yet?
I am at my in-laws house for the Easter weekend and I brought my machine with me. I had gotten all my pieces trimmed and ready but still had to assemble the blocks and take photos. Kind of a make it work moment!
A number of you have finished your quilt tops already! What! I am really really really loving everyones take on this pattern. So many great solid quilts, saturated, dark background, and playful versions.
And as a heads up, Kaitlyn of Knot and Thread Designs is offering 20% off long arming services for participants in the Sienna Burst QAL! I will provide more information as we get closer to the end. But, isn't that amazing?!
Also - there is on bundle left of the solids I curated based on the print bundle (Blueberry Park 3 - ships in May) I am using on Fabric Bubb. Go snag it before they are out!
Okay friends! Get sewing and don't forget to post to Instagram!
