Week 4: Post a photo of your next two Diamond Everett Star Blocks to show your progress! Be sure to use the #everettstarsal hashtag and tag @thencamejune to be entered into this week's giveaway.
You must post by Thursday February 8th at 11:59pm PST to be entered into the Week 4 giveaway. Each week starts fresh on Fridays and the previous week's post won't count for the next week's prize.
The weekly prizes will be the same throughout the SAL. One person will win the opportunity to get a 10 piece FQ bundle from me and a TCJ Bandana! You will be contacted when you win and then you get to let me know the color palette you are interested in - all blues, neutrals, rainbow, etc. And I will take your idea and build you a bundle! You get to also tell me if you want all solids, all prints or a mix. I can't wait to specially curate a new bundle each week! And yes, this is open to international participants.
Here is a photo of the Week 2 Giveaway Winner's bundle. She said she loves Ruby Star Society, plaids and pinks. Also, she is hoping to make a Granny Cabin Quilt pattern soon and it requires 10 FQs so I made this bundle in that in mind too!

LET'S SEW

Because we are working on the same block this week, you can do a massive batch sew if you'd like! Last week, I shared how I batch sew a Diamond Block and then a Cross Block. If you want to organize yourself, you can work on both blocks at the same time. I would suggest making all the Large Flying Geese at one time, then working on all the small flying geese, etc. Again, feel free to work block by block too!
We batched sewed our two blocks until we had all the components ready to be sewn into the final block. Then I went ahead and assembled them and snapped some photos!

Confession time. Alysson worked really hard to get these prints to be directional and then I sewed them all together. And look at the center star. See how the orange floral print is correct in all the orientations EXCEPT the 4 background corners of the center star? Woops, that was my mind. I did not see that that I had turned it 90 degrees the wrong way and now it's sideways. Another confession: I won't go back and fix it. I only noticed it when looking at these photos and it really doesn't bother me. But it may bother Alysson, to be determined! ;)

Now here are the three Diamond Blocks we've made so far.

And now all four blocks together - 3 Diamond and 1 Cross Block.

So much yummy floral! I am really happy seeing all how the fabrics are playing together.
