Goldie Quilt SAL - Week 6

Goldie Quilt SAL - Week 6

Welcome to Week 6 of the Goldie Quilt SAL! We should have 5 blocks done before starting this week.
This week, you guessed it! Another two Goldie blocks are on the docket! By the end of this week we should have 7 Goldie blocks.

Week 6: Post a photo of your two new Goldie Blocks or all of them together to show your progress! Be sure to use the #goldiesal hashtag to be entered into this week's giveaway.
You must post by Thursday March 9th at 11:59pm PST to be entered into the Week 5 giveaway. Each week starts fresh on Fridays and the previous weeks post won't count for the next week's prize.
The weekly prizes will be the same throughout the SAL. One person will win the opportunity to get a 15 piece FQ bundle from me! You will be contacted when you win and then you get to let me know the color palette you are interested in - all blues, neutrals, rainbow, etc. And I will take your idea and build you a bundle! You get to also tell me if you want all solids, all prints or a mix. I can't wait to specially curate a new bundle each week! And yes, this is open to international participants.
Here is a photo of the Week 4 Giveaway Winner's bundle. She told me she loved her quilting still is a bit eclectic but has been really into lilacs and purples! I made her a soothing bundle with a mix of prints and solids.

The Ruby Star Society print from Alexia Abegg's Honey line has been the one background fabric I have been dying to see in a block. It was the single bolt I added to my 9 background fabric that I was equally excited and nervous to use. It is bold and bright and funky and adds a tiny pop of bright pink to the more gold/yellow vibes of the bundle. Again, here is a reminder of what we started with.

I made sure to include a mix of solids and prints in my 9 different F8 cuts for the background. And here is how that fabric looks now in a block.

So these are the two new Goldie blocks added to our collection this week. And now look at how they are looking all next to each other! So so fun!

I should rearrange how I am tapping them up on the wall to be the right 3 x 3 grid but then I'd have to stand on the back of the couch and I just didn't think about it yet. ha! Maybe for next week!

Did you guys see that we do have a Grand Prize for the SAL?! Emily of So Sunny Quilts is giving the winner FREE longarm quilting on their finished Goldie quilt! How amazing is that?!

Emily longarm quilted every single one of my Goldie Quilt Pattern samples. All four of them!

The Week 5 winner of the custom FQ Bundle curated by me is @piebakermks!! Please send us an email at and we can start working on your custom curated FQ Bundle!
