Everett Star SAL - Week 7

Everett Star SAL - Week 7

Welcome to Week 7 of the Everett Star SAL! At the end of this week we will be finished with all 9 of our Everett Star blocks!

Week 7: Post a photo of your finished 9 Everett Star Blocks! Be sure to use the #everettstarsal hashtag and tag @thencamejune to be entered into this week's giveaway.
You must post by Thursday February 29th at 11:59pm PST to be entered into the Week 7 giveaway. Each week starts fresh on Friday's and the previous week's post won't count for the next week's prize.
The weekly prizes will be the same throughout the SAL. One person will win the opportunity to get a 10 piece FQ bundle from me and a TCJ Bandana! You will be contacted when you win and then you get to let me know the color palette you are interested in - all blues, neutrals, rainbow, etc. And I will take your idea and build you a bundle! You get to also tell me if you want all solids, all prints or a mix. I can't wait to specially curate a new bundle each week! And yes, this is open to international participants.
Here is a photo of the Week 5 Giveaway Winner's bundle. The color ask was peaches and pinks with a pop of color! I think this is gorgeous but you'll have to trust me until next week. In the last minute dash to get ourselves off to QuiltCon 2024, I took the photo but forgot to take it off the memory card. I will share the photo next week!

This week is the lightest week of our schedule. We are making our final Cross Block and that's it! If you need to play a little catch up, this is the week to do it. At the end of this week, we should have all 9 of our Everett Star blocks complete.

I am in love with this blue fabric in this block. And in the process of making this block, I did not notice that the blue fabric is *technically* directional. The little lighter color 4 piece floral graphic is slightly longer horizontally than vertically. If you look close, you can see that I didn't prioritize making them directional but it's not incredibly obvious that I didn't even see it until this stage. Woops! Luckily, I don't think it's noticeable and it doesn't bother me!

Now that all of my blocks are done, I was excited to snap a photo of them all together. First up, here are all the Cross Blocks finished.

And here are the five finished Diamond Blocks.

And here they are all together!

I have not laid these out in their final placement on my design wall. I am excited to see how each block interacts with each other.
Next week, we are working on our HST Border - cutting, sewing, trimming. See you next week!

Congrats to Dani of @thecraftyquilt, you are the Week 5 Winner! Please email us at hello@thencamejune.com and we will start curating a 10 piece custom FQ bundle just for you and a TCJ Bandana!
