Revive Bundle - the Blakely one

Revive Bundle - the Blakely one

The Revive Bundle is now available in my shop!
You can also purchase the Blakely Quilt pattern now!
After I chose all the fabrics I wanted to use in my Revive Bundle, it was time to decide what quilts to make using it. I was just about to release the Blakely Quilt pattern when I was working on mock ups and knew I wanted to use this pattern. I decided to make a Medium Throw Size Blakely in the Ombre FQ version. This exact design uses 13 FQs of the 24 in the bundle plus Kona White for background.
This quilt and the majority of the sewing process photos were made and taken by Sarah. I needed to hire out some of my work because we were in the middle of buying, selling and moving homes. I am so grateful Sarah was able to hop on board and sew up this gorgeous sample!
Here is the full bundle and then here is the 13 FQs we used to make this sample.
I paired up some of the "like" colors in the bundle to create the ombre look. And I decided to add in the pop of peach because, why not?!
The Blakely Quilt pattern is such a fun chain piecing quilt. Once all your strips are cut, you just sew sew sew. I love the photos Sarah captured of the fabric ribbons.
Then it is time to start building the specific blocks and then assemble the quilt top! The Blakely quilt pattern is a quick one - my favorite!
Once Sarah had finished making this sample for me, she shipped it back to me and I snapped some photos and made the backing before getting it quilted.
I sent all four of my Revive Quilts off to Kaitlyn of Knot + Thread Design. For this Blakely, I chose the classic baptist fan and I made a mistake when I sent this off. I forgot to tag the quilt top with "TOP" so it would be loaded onto the machine properly. Woops! Because it is a square, it is easy to rotate the top and it was accidentally loaded sideways. This is no one's fault other than mine for not being specific. So, the fans are going sideways when the quilt is hung in the correct orientation but it turned out gorgeous and fun regardless!

The texture is so lovely and I love how the light captures some of the shimmer of the Kona Sheen FQs. Kona Sheen is a new collection where one side is Kona Cotton and one side is a printed metallic shimmer. I love them!
