Surprise!! We have a fifth bundle with Robert Kaufman coming out this year! We have been working on this bundle and the samples since last summer, so happy we can finally chat about it! Meet the Brilliance Bundle!
Okay, let's chat about Brilliance! The Brilliance Bundle is on PREORDER and is slated to ship in July 2024. This new bundle showcases 24 Fat Quarters in Kona Cotton Solids.
After curating the Rejoice Bundle in 2022, I was reminded how much fun I have working with all solid fabrics. As a creative challenge last time, I only wanted to use 20 fabrics in my 4th bundle but with a lot more variety in the colors. Well, this time, I wanted to expand the depth of the bundle while shrinking the color families. So that is how I ended up with 24 FQs.
For this Brilliance bundle, my inspiration started with our travels to Europe in the summer of 2023. I took so many photos of painted doors in Paris and lots of photos of flowers. Originally I really wanted green to be in the bundle but I kept gravitating more towards reds. I haven't made too many quilts or color palettes that highlight the red and oranges tones so heavily.
Another aspect I wanted to include in this bundle was using more warm tones and dusty colors; mainly in the few purples and burnt oranges. I seem to gravitate toward making bundles that can be super bold and loud when desired but then can also break down into softer palettes.
The palette has so much depth to it and I love how powerful, vivid and vibrant it is.
The bundle can be used all together to create a bold, colorful quilt or you can also break the bundle down into smaller palettes and they are so fun!

We made three different quilt samples for this bundle. I wanted to make samples that used zero background fabric or very little of it to really showcase the solids all together. Here is a sneak peek of them:
We made a Goldie Quilt, a Jawbreaker Quilt and a Star Adventure Quilt. I can't wait to continue to share more in the coming months. We also plan to make another sample or two because we had such a fun time sewing the first three.
